The Boston Rock Academy provides learning opportunities through group musical study. If you’re a parent, we teach music while promoting self-esteem, self confidence, and group dynamics. If you’re in Grades 6-12, it means you get to rock with your friends. Hopefully this sounds like a great idea for both parents and kids.
More than that, the Boston Rock Academy is a product of the Boston music scene. So many great bands, broadcasters, and entertainers got their start here, that we thought the best way to share that tradition was by passing along the skills and excitement that come from music and live performance.

Your Contribution In Action. The Boston Rock Academy understands the impact that charitable giving has on helping individuals build stronger communities.
Any gift is an investment, whether your gift is financial or an in-kind donation, you make a positive impact on young people, as well as a meaningful experience for you.
Financial:
For every $50 we collect, we are able to fund a full scholarship for one student for that will bring music into their world, build confidence and start them developing social bonds that carry positive results well into their adult lives.
This list shows how we allocated our finances:
-
- 50% Scholarships and Community Outreach
- 25% Operating Costs
- 25% 501c3 Application and Preparation Fees
You can see the majority of our donations directly benefit young people.
In-kind:
Equipment, donations of rehearsal space, hosting performances, and lending PA systems, there are many valuable ways to give to the Boston Rock Academy. It takes a coordination of funds and logistical effort to deliver programs to young people across Massachusetts and items listed above are small examples of you we value contribution, whether lending items for programs, hosting events, or contributing equipment for performances.
The Tax Benefits of Giving. An added benefit to giving is that most charitable donations are tax-deductible. To receive a tax deduction, you will need the proper documentation when filing your income tax returns. The IRS requires a receipt for each tax-deductible contribution of $250 or more. Depending on the amount or type of your gift, you may need to provide additional documents with your tax form, such as Form 8283 for each non-cash donation exceeding $500.
The Impact of Your Donation. Once you have made your gift, please join our email or RSS feed for us to send you updates on programs and performances. Use the communication to mar your calendar for special events where you can join us to see, and hear, how your investments pay off in the life of young people.
Also, be sure to track the dates and amounts you gave payment methods and desired uses for your gift. We will automatically send you a receipt with an acknowledgment of your gift. Find out more here. We thank you.
