oedipusbraOedipus
Independent Entertainment Consultant, VP/Program Director, WBCN 104.1 FM, 1977 – 2004

Perhaps one of the most intuitive program directors to ever be at the helm of a station, the man known simply as Oedipus molded WBCN into the rock station by which all others were measured. He programmed based on instinct above all else, and his gut served him and the WBCN listener well. An early media supporter of punk music during his days at MIT’s WMBR which inspired The Late Riser’s Club Program, Oedipus led WBCN through it’s dominating Album Oriented Rock days and during the switch to Alternative Rock, often helping to launch some remarkable music careers along the way. When the Police were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, they thanked him personally for their initial support in America.  Recently, Oedipus co-authored a musical and established his own philanthropic organization, the Oedipus Foundation, dedicated to artistic offense, environmental defense and the enhancement of life.
